Hollywood Vogue

“Hollywood Vogue” is the second filly from “Hollywood Boutique” [see Broodmare page] and is by “King Hollywood”.  This striking filly, with a big baldy face, has loads of presence and good looks.  She is an athletic , free moving, good minded mare, that likes to get out and do something.

“King Hollywood” has a nature that is second to none, being hauled with mares and competed on with success in both Breakaway Roping and Barrel Racing.  He has not been campaigned over the last two years due to work commitments, however his only outing in 2014 saw him get 3rd Quarter Horse Stallion at Halter, 2nd All Breeds Working Stallion, 3rd Open Reining, with similar wins and placings in 2015, proving that he has the ability to put his himself to many different disciplines.  This is not surprising knowing his breeding!

“Hollywood Boutique’s” first filly by the outstanding “Mabo” was showing extreme athletic ability and trainability until she sustained a major injury, that has curtailed her performance, to Broodmare duties. “Boutique’s” first gelding, “Hollywood Toby” also by “Mabo” has proved to be a lovely quiet, easy going gelding that has the good mind to allow a small child to ride him at pony club, but also has the natural athletic ability to be competitive in the roping pen when ridden by an adult in competition.  “Boutique’s” last foal by “Phantom of the Roc” is just as lovely and quiet and has broken in very well, showing athletic ability and a trainable mind, just as you would expect from these bloodlines.

“Vogue” is very striking under saddle, has power and speed to burn and will be able to be put to any discipline from the Dressage Show ring to the Timed Event Arena, Campdraft to Challenge. She is not for a beginner at this stage as she is quick and athletic and likes to go somewhere and do something. Being a ‘double cross’ “Hollywood Return”, she is also an asset for future breeding. Any stud wanting to keep ‘substance’ in their breeding program to cross with the “Modern” lines will find this mare bloodlines attractive.

Hollywood Astro Boy

“Hollywood Astro Boy” is the last foal from the grand old “Hollywood Return” daughter, “Astras Return”.  He is by “King Hollywood”, thus making him a double cross “Hollywood” as well as a great grandson of the Great “Hill King Pistol”.  He is a lovely quiet boy, with a good attitude, and free moving, willing disposition.  He is athletic with speed as well.  He is broken in and going nicely.  Started on basic educational patterns and is settling well.   Having had two months work at a feedlot, he is now ready to go on with all his roping training. He has now started some basic roping training, tracking calves/steers, towing a tyre, and dummy roping.  He is very accepting of the rope and keen to track his cattle, and has plenty of stop.

“Astras Return” has produced numerous winners in several fields. Campdraft winners in “Coolabah Harlequin” owned by Rob Tunny and campaigned by Danny Richards, and  “Hollywood Gunnadoo”[who incidentally was a good barrel and rope horse as well].  “Hollywood Goldrush” Breakaway Roping and Barrel Race winner, owned and campaigned by Rebecca Tozer.  “Sam’s Hollywood” owned and campaigned by Jamie Graham, Roping winner in the NT.  “Hollywood Goldcard” owned and campaigned by the Mayer family, winner on both sides of the box – both Heading and Heeling. “Chex Return” has recently gone to the competitive home of the Bright Family, Gympie, where he has started his Barrel Racing and Roping career,[and maybe a bit of campdrafting if Tony can steal him from time to time!!] Chex is now stepping up to the plate with his barrel racing and is winning and placing in Junior 1st Division, with times that would place in the open 1st Division.

We have retained her last filly – “Hollywood Mae West”, a beautiful buckskin filly, also by “King Hollywood”, to campaign and then breed from.  Had “Astro Boy” been a filly, we would have retained her as well.  “Astras Return” has been a great producing broodmare, and retaining her blood is important.  “Mae West” is an exceptional nature, accepting everything that is asked of her and trying her best at all times. “Just a little bit like her dad!!” you might say.  Being a ‘double cross’ “Hollywood”, she is a valuable broodmare.

“King Hollywood” has a nature that is second to none, being hauled with mares and competed on with success in both Breakaway Roping and Barrel Racing.  He has not been campaigned over the last two years due to work commitments, however his only outing in 2014 saw him get 3rd Quarter Horse Stallion at Halter, 2nd All Breeds Working Stallion, 3rd Open Reining, proving that he has the ability to put his himself to many different disciplines. Not a bad effort for being pulled out of the paddock a week before! This is not surprising knowing his breeding!

With all of this said, it is safe to say that “Astro Boy” will excel in almost anything that you want to do with him.  He has a good mind and athletic ability and a great nature like his full sister.  He looks good under saddle and would suit Roping and Barrel Racing [I think thats a given] but would Rein, Cut, Draft and Challenge.

Sheriff’s Diamond Star

Text story co

Sheriff’s Diamond Star is by “Shining Sheriff” Imp, out of “Holly’s Rising Star”. She is a beauitul Palomino filly with loads of presence and eye appeal. Her conformation is very correct with a nice sloping shoulder and long hip.

“Shining Sheriff” Imp is by “Shining Spark”, – The AmQHA’s All Time Leading Sire of Performance Horses. He is the NRCHA Number 1 All Time Leading Sire of Cowhorses, the NRHA youngest $2 Million sire and Number 4 All Time Leading Sire. Not only was he, himself, a prolific Champion, but his progeny have won over $5.4 Million.

“Sheriff’s” Dam is “Zans Diamond Jackie”, sired by “Zans Diamond Sun” (All Round World Champion Stallion ) by the legendary “Zans Parr Barr”. This mare was the ’93 and “94 AmQHA Amatuer Reining Champion, the ’94 NRHA Non-Pro Derby Res. Champion, ’95 Amateur Reining Champion. She has produced a World Superhorse in 2007, a NRCHA Oper Futurity Champion, a AmQHA Junior All Round Champion, a Open Cowhorse Res. Champion in 2007, a NRCHA Stakes Winner, and Doc’s Diamond Sun, who won AmQHA Champion heading Horse. – She was certainly one busy Momma taking all them kids to their sports!!! Enough said on “Shining Sheriff” – he is definately bred for the job.

“Holly’s Rising Star” is by “Hollywood Showdown” and out of the “Hollywood Star” mare, “Hollywood Cheeky”(see broodmare pg). “Chubby” as she is affectionately known is an extremely quiet mare. She was broken in and given light work. With a natural stop and willing trainable mind, she was doing patterning exercises very early on in her training. However she was the oldest filly out of “Cheeky” and a double cross “Hollywood” so she made her way to the broodmare pen early as well.

Sheriff’s Diamond Star, I’m sure will be equal to her mother, in her willingness and trainability, add to that the “Shining Spark” record, add to that her pretty palomino looks and she is destined for big things. She will be an asset to any broodmare band

Royale Return

Royale Return is from “King Hollywood’s” first foal crop, out of  “Tyrone Morns Rose”.  He is a   ‘blue blood’ of Championship performers and producers.  “Hollywood Showdown”, “Hill King Pistol”, “Mr Freckles Boy”, “Morn Deck”, “Jet Boom”, and he is classy with lots of eye appeal to boot!

He displays “King Hollywoods” intelligence and kind temperament, with good bone and powerful hindquarters.  He is bred to Rein, Cut, Rope, Barrel Race, Pleasure, Campdraft and Show and would be an ideal barrel futurity prospect.  We believe he will excel at any of these events.

He is broken in and going nicely. He is started on basic patterning exercises in preparation for barrels and is tracking and breakawaying calves as well as the tow dummy.  He pulls the tow dummy also.  ‘Roy’ has an awesome stop and will only get better as he progresses in his training.  He is currently being ridden by our 15yr old trainee student, which displays that he has the beautiful temperament of his sire and grandsire.

Rockin’ Morn

This filly will ‘run a hole in the wind’! Going on her bloodlines she is bred to Barrel Race – going on her looks she is built to Barrel Race!

“Mornin Zita” is yet another top quality filly by “Phantom of the Roc”.  She has great conformation – sloping shoulder, HUGE LONG HIP, beautiful swan neck and length of rein.  Oh and I forgot to mention – she is a beautiful Buckskin!  Can you ask for much more!  She oozes speed and athleticism, however she has the style and eye appleal to show both at halter and under saddle.

As mentioned above, her bloodlines say Barrel Race her.  This is because her sire “Phantom of the Roc” was a champion barrel racer, winning the “Holy Grail” of Barrel Racing – Mt Isa.  He won the All Round Cowgirl there also with a high placing in the Ladies Breakaway Roping, and went on to win numerous barrel races on the way to the Australian Champion All Round Cowgirl title in 2004.

However the other link in his pedigree is that his sire”Roc O Lena”, is also the sire of “Traditional Roc”.  This horse is the sire of numerous champion Barrel Racers, along with cutters too.  The next interesting point in his pedigree is that “Traditional” is out of “Docs Misty Morn” – you guessed it “Morn Deck’s” dam.  So this filly is bred similar to “Tradional Roc” and so has Barrel Racing in her genes all the way.

This is not to say that all of the above mentioned horses have produced numerous cutters, ropers and campdrafters, so once again, this filly is versatile enough to perform well at any event.

“Mornin Zita” is only the third filly that “Tyrone Morn Rose” has produced, and the first two fillies have been retained by the stud.  Be quick with this one, as the one thing that has not been mentioned is that this filly would be a ‘big asset’ to any broodmare band.

It is definately safe to say though that “Mornin Zita” is a definate Barrel Futurity prospect.  These photos are taken at 4 months and she has grown into her “Bootie” – its still one big ‘Bootie’ but the rest of her has cought up some, so watch for more pics of this gal as she grows and matures into the runnin’ machine that she will be.

Rockin’ in Hollywood

“Rockin’ in Hollywood” is the first, and eagerly awaited  foal for our well performed mare, “Driftin in Hollywood”, and is by “Phantom of the Roc” (see Stallion page).  She is a little Aussie Battler, being born premmy.  She was a fighter and she overcame the odds that most premmy foals don’t, to be the ‘looker’ she is now.

“Driftin’in Hollywood” is arguably one of our best performed mares, having won and placed in numerous disciplines, including 1st and 2nd in the 5 Head Ladies Breakaway Roping at the Annual Richmond Timed Event Jackpot, where the best ropers enroute to Mt Isa stop over to play. Placed 3rd in Maiden at her first Campdraft, numerous wins in Western Pleasure and Western Riding, CRCA Finals Qualifier in Heeling and Ladies Breakaway.  ABHA Capricorn Circuit Hi Point Barrel Racing Champion 2005.

Add to this, “Phantom of the Roc” who was a champion barrel racer, winning the “Holy Grail” of Barrel Racing – Mt Isa. He won the All Round Cowgirl there also with a high placing in the Ladies Breakaway Roping, and went on to win numerous barrel races and Ropings on the way to the Australian Champion All Round Cowgirl title in 2004.  He won many Steer Undecorating and has won numerous Open Campdrafts at a young age.

What do you get? One georgeous palomino filly who will be able to perform at what ever your chosen sport!  Rein, Cut, Barrel Race, Draft, Rope, Challenge – you name it I bet she can do it.  “Rockin’in Hollywood” is typical of the other foals in “Phantom’s” crop, beautiful sloping shoulder, big long hip and pretty head.

Now as a 2 yr old, she has been broken in by Cody Stevens of Jambin, and she has not disappointed us.  Both she and “Viva Roc Vegas” are the first of our “Phantom” progeny to be broken in.  “Rockin In Hollywood” demonstrated from the start that she had a ‘big stop and liked to use it’.  Cody described her as being very calm, willing, athletic and of course the big stop. However he said she was still ready to wait for your next instruction, a quality that is neccessary for the cutter or reiner. Now we know for sure – She has a big future in front of her!  She will be capable of doing what ever discipline you favour.

Rising Roc Star

“Rising Roc Star” is a quality Colt by “Phantom of the Roc”.  These photos were taken at 4 months old, so you can see he is a solid little boy at this stage.

I think it is evident that “Phantom of the Roc” has stamped all his foals with that same beautiful sloping shoulder and and BIG HIP.  This boy has the same good conformation that all his siblings possess.

His dam, “Hollys Rising Star” is by “Hollywood Showdown” and is out of “Hollywood Cheeky”.  “Cheeky” produced several good roping and barrel racing horses, and “Hollys Rising Star” was showing great potential as a rope horse, however, because she is a double cross “Hollywood”, we wanted to start her breeding program.  “Hollywood Cheeky” was the great “Hollywood” “Jessie James” cross that has long been recognised as great Broodmare genes.  There is a long line of Cutters in that gene pool.

“Phantom” was a winning camphorse at a very young age and went on to win many major drafts, barrel Races, including Mt Isa and Ropings (see Stallion page).

With the ‘Versatility’of his sire and dam’s bloodlines, he will no doubt excel at Roping, Barrel Racing, Cutting or Reining! Therefore he is an excellent Futurity  Prospect.  Stay tuned for more photos.

Jet Return –

Text story c

Jet Return is out of Tyrone Morns Rose, who was purchased specifically for her excellent performance bloodlines (refer to broodmare pg). He is by Hollywood Showdown (refer to stallion pg)

Jet is a big, kind going gelding with a lot of leg and bone under him. He has been broken in and done light work and spelled. Since bringing him back in, he has been started on basic patterning for barrels and on the barrel pattern. He has had the rope swung on him, tracks and ropes the tow dummy. He is a great walker and can glide up the mountains and over rocks with great ease. Jet has always been very quiet and gentle by nature; he has even been ridden mustering by our 12yr old daughter.

With his bloodlines, he is an excellent Barrel Futurity/Reining/Roping prospect, but is elegant enough to show. He has great movement and a great mind to go with it. He is not one to be missed.

Hollywood Tom Mix – Sold

“Hollywood Tom Mix” is a lovely big buckskin gelding, by the outstanding Campdraft Sire – “Mabo”.  “Tom” is a good sized horse, for just about any field.  He has had a lot of mustering and cattle work, which has made his switch over to roping, very easy.  He took to the roping side of things like a duck to water.

We are currently Heading Steers on him, however he has such a good stop and handle on him, he would make a great Breakaway, Calf horse or heeling horse.  He is good after a spell and is an easy going horse to ride around.  He is at the stage of roping medium paced cattle, with some faster ones now and again and handling it well.  He has been to several ATRA Jackpots as the flag horse, including the ATRA Finals at the Capella Indoor Arena. He is a good traveller, without any fuss.  He is still doing patterning excercises in prepartation for the barrel pattern, but is not far off being put on the pattern.

His sire “Mabo”, is by the great “Docs Freckles Oak” and is out of the wonderful “Hollywood” producing mare, in “Doc’s Baby Doll”. Mabo’s full sisters, “Oaks Stardust” & “Oaks Serene” are legends in the campdrafting world, having won countless Open Drafts and ACA Titles, with “Serene” producing the 2011 Warwick Gold Cup Winner, “Serene Acres”. “Mabo”, himself is a Open Campdraft winner, and his progeny are proving their ability in the Campdraft arena, with many winning and placing regularly throughout country, including “Chandelier Haze”(another double cross “Hollywood”) who won the 2007 Ladies Draft at the Stockhorse Nationals at Camden, NSW. Jessie Crozier and her “Mabo” mare, “Cinema” won the prestigious 2009 Grandmother Clock at Chinchilla, “Tax Return” and our own “Hollywood Chantilly”, owned by Rob Tunny and campaigned by Danny Richards as well as numerous others.

His Dam, “Hollywood Cadet” is one of two own daughters of “Hollywood Return” that were bred with his frozen Semen, years after his exportation to the USA in 1984. She is out of one of the McNamara’s great mares “Emu Creek Zanadoo”, by Elliots Creek Cadet, whom needs no introduction.  Such an excellent line of Stock Horses that have performed consistantly for over 30 years, crossed with the “Hollywood Return” bloodline that has also performed consistanly for over 30 years, could only mean that she was going to be one good “cow horse”.  With such valuable bloodlines, she has been utilised equally as a broodmare, producing several good foals by well known Stock horses, such as “Hazelwood Conman”.

“Tom” is a good reliable horse and is making a great roping horse, but he has plenty of ‘cow’, and would draft or challenge, however he has the speed and agility to run barrels as well.  He is reliable enough for a junior to ride, which will make him a great horse for all of the family.
