Rockin’ Morn

This filly will ‘run a hole in the wind’! Going on her bloodlines she is bred to Barrel Race – going on her looks she is built to Barrel Race!

“Mornin Zita” is yet another top quality filly by “Phantom of the Roc”.  She has great conformation – sloping shoulder, HUGE LONG HIP, beautiful swan neck and length of rein.  Oh and I forgot to mention – she is a beautiful Buckskin!  Can you ask for much more!  She oozes speed and athleticism, however she has the style and eye appleal to show both at halter and under saddle.

As mentioned above, her bloodlines say Barrel Race her.  This is because her sire “Phantom of the Roc” was a champion barrel racer, winning the “Holy Grail” of Barrel Racing – Mt Isa.  He won the All Round Cowgirl there also with a high placing in the Ladies Breakaway Roping, and went on to win numerous barrel races on the way to the Australian Champion All Round Cowgirl title in 2004.

However the other link in his pedigree is that his sire”Roc O Lena”, is also the sire of “Traditional Roc”.  This horse is the sire of numerous champion Barrel Racers, along with cutters too.  The next interesting point in his pedigree is that “Traditional” is out of “Docs Misty Morn” – you guessed it “Morn Deck’s” dam.  So this filly is bred similar to “Tradional Roc” and so has Barrel Racing in her genes all the way.

This is not to say that all of the above mentioned horses have produced numerous cutters, ropers and campdrafters, so once again, this filly is versatile enough to perform well at any event.

“Mornin Zita” is only the third filly that “Tyrone Morn Rose” has produced, and the first two fillies have been retained by the stud.  Be quick with this one, as the one thing that has not been mentioned is that this filly would be a ‘big asset’ to any broodmare band.

It is definately safe to say though that “Mornin Zita” is a definate Barrel Futurity prospect.  These photos are taken at 4 months and she has grown into her “Bootie” – its still one big ‘Bootie’ but the rest of her has cought up some, so watch for more pics of this gal as she grows and matures into the runnin’ machine that she will be.
