Hollywood Daytona

As the name suggests – this boy will be fast!!  “Hollywood Daytona” is a beautiful gold palomino colt, by “Phantom of the Roc” out of “Hollywood Centrefold”.  He is all style and class, with all the attributes we have found “Phantom of the Roc” passes on – length of rein, sloping shoulder, huge hip, long underline, depth through his chest, good strong bone and to top it off, a pretty head.  “Hollywood Daytona” is built to do anything that requires athleticism, strength and speed.  However he has the looks, conformation and charisma to excell in the Show Ring too!

His bloodlines  would say Barrel Race him. This is because his sire “Phantom of the Roc” [see stallion page] was a champion barrel racer, winning the “Holy Grail” of Barrel Racing – Mt Isa. He won the All Round Cowgirl there also with a high placing in the Ladies Breakaway Roping, and went on to win numerous barrel races and ropings on the way to the Australian Champion All Round Cowgirl title in 2004, and many wins afterwards.  However, “Phantom of the Roc” was and Open Camphorse long before he hit the rodeo trail, and he has sired a number of winners in this field. He has several wins at Halter, proving he was correct enough to show, atheletic enough to perform.

“Hollywood Centrefold” is a daughter of “Hollywood Showdown”[see Stallion Pg] and a grandaughter of “Magnum Force”, who sired several winners in the show ring. “Centrefold’s” dam “Crystal Magnum”, is all running blood, being a grandaughter of “The Ambassador” and “Heisa Rocket”. “Centrefold’s” 3/4 sister is performing well in the show ring, with a number of wins at Halter, and Western Performance and full brother, “Showdown’s Topgun” has perfromed well at Barrel Racing and Roping. With “Centrefold” being the first filly, she was retained by the stud for breeding. She was broken in and going well before begining her breeding duties.

“Hollywood Daytona” has all the physical attributes and the mind,  to perform well in Reining, Cutting, Campdrafting, Barrel Racing, Roping and Show, making him a definate Futurity/Challenge prospect.  He is pretty and correct enough to make an excellent stud prospect, and he has the depth of breeding to say he can do it all!

Hollywood Colours – Sold

Hollywood Colours is a bay tobiano, by “Hollywood Showdown”(refer Stallion Page), out of the Paint mare, “Roperley Park Rimfire”. “Rimfire” is a great granddaughter of “Hill King Pistol” (sire of numerous rodeo, cutting, reining and show champions). Her sire, “Fairview Rimfire”, himself was an accomplished, roping, steer undecorating and show horse. Several of the “Fairview Rimfire” horses were used for Picking Up horses, by Kerry Hall, including this mare.

Hollywood Colours is very quiet and good to handle. She is broken in, done light mustering, and started on basic patterning and education. With her colour and good looks, she would suit the show ring or reining, however with her “Hollywood” and “King” bloodlines, she will definitely make a nice rope horse.

Hollywood Cartel

Hollywood Cartell” is by “Hollywood Hoges”out of “Hollywood Morn Rose” (see Broodmare page)

His Sire “Hoges” has sired many winners in Reining, Drafting and Rodeo including “Holly’s Hillbilly” who swept the field in his Reining Futurity and Derby years taking home several State and National titles. “Bill” set Warren Backhouse on the road to success.

“Hollywood Cartel”and is the first foal of “Hollywood Morn Rose”. He is a 3/4 brother to “Hollywood Highway” and full brother to “Hollywood California” (see For Sale page). He is showing the same quiet nature that all the “Hoges” possess and is good to handle and loves being around people. His is broken in and is going nicely. He has had some mustering and general riding around roads and town areas.  He has had a whip cracked on him whilst mustering, and we have start swinging a rope on him, with general patturn work for barrels started as well.  His first big outing was the ATRA National Finals, where he just took in the sights and then he was used at a Barrel Racing Clinic that I conducted at Miriam Vale and he performed beautifully and took the whole weekend in his stride.

He has beautiful movement and presence for the show ring at either English or Western. He is a finer build with plenty of interest in working a cow, so would make an ideal campdrafter.

Being out of a “Hollywood/ Morn Deck” mare, he is a double cross “Hollywood” and will make a definate Barrel/ Roping prospect . He is very athletic and quick on his feet however he is super pretty and has plenty of eye appeal so will go well in the show ring or those events that are judged, such as challenges or reining.

Hollywood Agent – Soldorse Name Bold

Hollywood Agent is a 9yr old chestnut gelding by Hollywood Moonshadow (refer to stallion pg) out of Tyrone Morns Rose (refer to broodmare pg).  He stands 15h high.

Agent is an extremely nice type, with good shoulder and hip.  He has a good length of rein.  He is of a solid build, but is athletic. He is a quick and snappy horse and will excel at barrels, timed events or campdrafting. He has been mustering, done basic patterning exercises, and is well started on barrels.  He has been pulling the tow dummy, and is going very well Breakawaying calves out of the box.  He is a good quiet horse, however whilst he is quite easy going, he would need a fairly experienced rider.  He follows more closely to the Morn Deck nature.

He has attended most of the 2010/some 2011 and most of the 2012 ABHA jackpots thus far, where he has taken it all in his stride.  Lacey has taken him steadily, slowly picking up the pace to  3rd Division.  He done a couple of ATRA Jackpots in 2012, where Lacey has Breakaway Roped on him and he has handled it all really well.  She had such faith in him that she competed on him in the Preliminary Round of the ATRA National Finals and with 2 very quick and solid catches in the Ladies Breakaway, he helped Lacey to win the ‘High Point Lady Roper’ of the National Finals and beautiful Trophy hand made by Nicole Murray.  His 1/2 Sister, “Hollywood Redneck Woman” also helped win Lacey this title.  He has also been flag judged on at a couple of rodeos.

“Agent” has been worked almost totally by our daughter Lacey over the past 3 years whilst juggling work and study, and he is ready to ‘hit the road’ and season him. He is showing much promise as he is snappy in his turn and very athletic with a great stop on him.

Daddy Wood – Sold

“Daddywood” is our first foal for the 2011 by “King Hollywood” (see Stallion page).  He is out of “Dmac Mumma”, a mare by “Dmac Daddy” out of a good Cutting mare.  Due to the purchase of “Phantom of the Roc” in the 2010 season, we bred nearly all of our mares to him, leaving just one for “King” that year and “Daddywood” is his boy.

The photos are taken at 4 months old, and he is growing nicely.  He started off a beautiful brown bay with some chrome however now he is almost black.  He has a good length of rein and a nice sloping shoulder and hip.  He has “King’s” very  pretty head, with his dam’s markings.  He has good strong bone and straight legs.  In other words he has very good conformation!

King is working very well in the competition arena, with many wins in Rodeo Queen, with our daughter, Lacey-Jae at the reins. He is going very consistantly Heeling and Barrel Racing, where he has come up with some wins and places. The 2011 year was to be the year to hit the competition trail, where not long after he won the 3rd Division Buckle at the Talmadge Green Barrel Racing Clinic, he sustained a injury  and didn’t come back into competion until July.  However he still managed to win the ABHA 2nd Division Runner-up Barrel Race and the ‘Most Improved Horse’ for 2011. He has started his Breakaway Roping Career in 2012, with may quick catches and places in both ATRA and CRCA Associations.

“Dmac Mumma” is by the Champion Cutting Horse “Dmac Daddy”, who has sired several winners at Cutting and Challenges, including “One Moore Daddy” and “Whos Ya Daddy” to name a few.  Her Dam is a good cutting mare who was owned and shown by Greg Jolly.  “Dmac Mumma” was broken in and worked, however we purchased her as an outcross mare to breed to “King”.

“Kings” progeny have his great temperament and trainablility, and athleticism, so I think it would be safe to say that “Daddywood” will definately suit the Reining, Cutting, Rodeo and Challenge arenas.

Checks Return – Sold

“Checks Return” is our second colt by AD Collect the Check, out of our great old Hollywood Return daughter – Astras Return. See Broodmare page for her pedigree and Performance history

“Checks Return” has a huge, powerful hindquarter with a nice sloping shoulder and a good length of rein, making him a very well balanced gelding. He is very quiet and well mannered.

“Checks” is a full brother to “Hollywood Gold Card”, who is now in the Roping pen and doing very well. Having competed at major ATRA Jackpots including the Nathional Finals at Capella, and some of the 2012 Rodeo season, including the CRCA Finals. In 2013 he has been hitting a winning streak with several wins with Lacey-Jae aboard. Winning 2 All Girl Team Roping at the Gunnedah Tough Girl Roping, #9 Team Roping at Charters Towers and #7 Team Roping at Chinchilla.  He competed at the 2013 ATRA National Finals, and even Headed some steers there as well.

His sire, AD Collect the Check, is accomplished cutter and successful campdrafter, who was campaigned by Rick Hopkins to many wins and places in 2005. Rick is now campaigning several of his progeny. “AD She is Dun” went to the NCHA Futurity, with the High Score in the first go round, is perhaps his best performed Cutter.  Goldcard’s grandsire, Atoe was a Champion Reiner, and had many winners in this field. Broomfield Freckles Image, who has sired winners in the show, campdraft and rodeo arenas, including Freckles Little Chickasha owned and campaigned by Amanda Watson, was by the immortal Mr Freckles Boy.

His dam, Astras Return, is an own daughter of Hollywood Return, whose list of progeny and their achievements go on and on. Astra has produced winners at Roping, barrel race, campdrafting and polocross, with several youngsters still to make their mark.

He is bred to excel in Cutting, Drafting, Roping, Barrel Racing, Reining but he is also pretty enough to put in the show ring.  He is broken in and going well, he has had several months of mustering and general riding, he is started on basic barrel patterning, and is roping the tow dummy and tracking cattle and breakaway roping. Like his siblings, he should be a very good competition horse in the future.

Rocs Return – Sold

“Rocs Return” is almost a carbon copy of “Rockin’ Morn”, that is because he is nearly the same bloodlines.  By “Phantom of the Roc” (see Stallion page), and out of “Hollywood Morn Rose”, who is out of “Tyrone Morn Rose” and is by “Hollywood Showdown” (see Stallion page).  So like “Rockin’ Morn”, he is bred to Barrel Race!  This colt will be a definate Stud Prospect, and with the over abundance of ‘Cutting’ bloodlines all ready in this country and being imported, he will offer a great out cross to the gene pool on offer today.

As mentioned above, his bloodlines say Barrel Race him. This is because his sire “Phantom of the Roc” was a champion barrel racer, winning the “Holy Grail” of Barrel Racing – Mt Isa. He won the All Round Cowgirl there also with a high placing in the Ladies Breakaway Roping, and went on to win numerous barrel races on the way to the Australian Champion All Round Cowgirl title in 2004.

However the other link in his pedigree is that “Phantom’s” sire “Roc O Lena”, is also the sire of “Traditional Roc”. This horse is the sire of numerous champion Barrel Racers, along with cutters too. The next interesting point in his pedigree is that “Traditional” is out of “Docs Misty Morn” – you guessed it “Morn Deck’s” dam. So this filly is bred similar to “Tradional Roc” and so has Barrel Racing in his genes all the way.

This is not to say that all of the above mentioned horses have produced numerous cutters, ropers and campdrafters, so once again, this colt is versatile enough to perform well at any event.  And of course “Morn Rose’s” sire “Hollywood Showdown”, so add that to the “Morn Deck” and “Roc O Lena” and you get a horse that has the athletic ability and mind to do it all!

“Hollywood Morn Rose” was the first filly that “Tyrone Morn Rose” had produced, so she was retained by the stud and made her way to the broodmare band.  Her first foal, “Hollywood Cartel” has been broken in and is going well  and his full brother is set to be broken in this season.

It is definately safe to say though that “Rocs Return” is a definate Barrel Futurity prospect. These photos are taken at 3 & half months, so watch for more pics of this boy as he matures.

Yearlings and 2 Year Olds

The O.H. Corral has three yearlings from the 09 crop and 2 foals from the 2010 crop. These kids haven’t got their own page yet, but we still want you to know about them.  We can’t list all the prices, so please call if you are interested and would like to know a price.

The are now only two 2 Year Olds :- “Hollywood Vogue” and “Hollywood California”

Two Foals:- “Hollywood’s Astro Boy”, “Hollywood Silver Dollar”

“Hollywood Vouge”

“HOLLYWOOD VOUGE” – is striking chestnut filly by “King Hollywood” out of “Hollywood Botique” (see Stallion and Broodmare pages) making her a double cross “Hollywood”. She is an athletic and fast with a quiet, willing and trainable mind and should do almost anything that you might want to do -rein, rope, barrel race, challenge, draft. Her half brother (by “Mabo”), is broken and going extremely well, and is very quiet and athletic, showing heaps of cow! His owners are very pleased with him.

“Guns and Roses”

“GUNS and ROSES” is by “King Hollywood” and out of “Tyrone Morn Rose” see (Stallion and Broodmare Page). “Gunner” is the youngest of three full brothers and is showing the same lovely quiet nature that “King” is putting on his foals. He is a willing learner and is of an athletic build. His 3/4 brother, “Hollywood Morn Jet” is already winning as a Heeling Horse, placing in numerous ATRA events and is going very well on barrels. It goes without saying that he will make an awesome barrel racing futurity prospect, and like all his siblings, he is going to excell at anything that requires speed and agility.  SORRY I’M SOLD  His new owners have broke him in and are very pleased with his laid back attitude and trainability he is showing.

“Hollywood California”

“HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA” – is by “Hollywood Hoges”, and is the second foal of “Hollywood Morn Rose” (see Broodmare page). He is a 3/4 brother to “Hollywood Highway” and full brother to “Hollywood Cartel” (see For Sale page). He is showing the same quiet nature of “Cartel” and is good to handle and loves being around people. His Sire “Hoges” has sired many winners in Reining, Drafting and Rodeo. Being out of a “Hollywood/ Morn Deck” mare, he is a double cross “Hollywood” and will make a definate Barrel/ Roping prospect, at this stage he is a finer build so will also be excellent to rein, challenge or draft.

“Hollywood Moon Express”

“HOLLYWOOD MOON EXPRESS” is another by “King Hollywood” but is our first foal out of our “Moonshadow” mare, “Hollywood Moon Glow” ( See Stallion and Broodmare pages). She is a very striking little filly and has very correct conformation in a long sloping shoulder and hip. She has a very strong hind quarter, like her dam. She is showing that quiet, calm disposition that “King” passes on, however all her ‘genes’ are quiet. This filly will be pretty enough to show, but should excell in any field, and of course, she is a double cross “Hollywood” so will be an asset to any stud wanting to breed true performance horses.  SORRY I’M SOLD

“HOLLYWOOD SILVER DOLLAR” is by “AD Collect the Check, out of “Kempsters Silky Oak” (see broodmare page).  “AD Collect the Check” is an Open Campdraft winner and has sired cutters and drafters as well as his sire producing a number of Barrel Racing horses as well.  This colt is a pretty chestnut with chrome.  He is very correctly put together with a huge hind quarter. and he is quiet in nature.  Being out of a double cross “Hollywood” mare, he will no doubt draft or cut, but will excell and any field that requires agility and speed. (Photo coming)

“HOLLYWOOD ASTRO BOY” is the last colt foal out of our wonderful producing mare and direct daughter of “Hollywood Return” – “Astras Return”.  He is by “King Hollywood”.  We have retained his full sister, “Hollywood Mae West” to compete on and breed from further down the track.  “Mae West” was the last filly for “Astras Return” and “Astro Boy” was her last foal at the age of 26.  Both he and “Mae West” have lovely quiet natures and are intelligent.  He is probably close to one of the last colts out of a direct daughter of “Hollywood Return”.  If you follow campdrafting, you will know that 3 of the best Camphorses in this country are out of a direct daughter of “Hollywood Return” – “Oaks Stardust”, “Oaks Serene”(producer of 2011 Warwick Gold Cup) and “Mabo”.  “Astra’s” colt, “Hollywood Holiday” also has produced several campdraft winners.  “See Broodmare Page for further details on “Astras Return”.  With several winning camphorses and Roping/Barrel Horses from “Astra” it is safe to say that “Astro Boy” will Draft, Rope, Rein Challenge or Barrel Race. (Photo coming)
